Costs of Studying In Indonesian University (UGM)

So you wanted to do be a doctor/dentist/vets/pharmacy?
Cabut gigi 1 bayar RM80. Haha. *kacing-kacing*, the sound of the the coins dropping. Haha

*belai gigi patung dragon* LOL *irrelevant* apakah aku peduli? Jawapan: tidak. Hahaha. *so vain*

Back to the topic..
You're probably thinking how and where and bla bla bla..
Basically you will have to sit for the entrance exams and go by agency.
I went by Medic ProLink to apply for UGM but I also went by KLC Placement
They have a variety of Indonesian universities, you can check them out.

In case you don't know(or didn't read my previous blog posts), I'm currently a 1st year dental student in UGM. My course is not the International course but a regular one which means I'm in the same class with my Indonesian batchmates. If you're asking the language used then it will be in Bahasa Indonesia. Is it hard? Yes. But I'm still standing. Haha. If others can do it then so can I. Jia you jia you!

For dentistry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine, the classes are conducted in bahasa Indonesia. The fees are stated above. Fees are paid by semester.
Estimation (Tuition Fees Only)
Dentistry: 45juta rupiah per sem X 11 semesters = 495 juta (~RM 141k)
Pharmacy: 45juta per sem X 8 semesters= 360 juta (~RM 103K)
Veterinary Medicine: 24 juta X 11 semesters = 264 juta (~RM 75K)

For medicine course, the classes are in English because it is an international programme.
Estimation (Tuition Fees Only)
Medicine: 60 juta X 7 + 65 juta X 4 = 680 juta rupiah (~RM194K)
For more information regarding this course, Click Here
The S1 fee is for the theoretical studies whereas the 65 juta is for KOAS fees. KOAS = clinical year
*The rates above are calculated based on RM1 ~ IDR 3500 and not inclusive of bank charges
Note: Fees may increase yearly
Extra charges
For those who's under MedicPro, normally you will automatically paying for the 24months fees. It'll be inclusive in your service charges. :)

Now to the living cost, ....
Honestly the food here is cheap. But if you're into budget type then it'll be cheaper to buy and make your own food. RM700 will make do for a month. Of course you can go a bit lower than that but it all depends on your spending attitude. Movie tickets are cheap too. 40K IDR for weekends and 30K IDR for weekdays. Not bad I would say. And Jogja has so many varieties of eating place with varieties f prices to match too. :)

Thanks for reading.

Mom, Mother, Madre (Happy Mother's Day)

I am so very happy.
I am so loving my week.
Because tomorrow my class starting at 10 a.m. !!
That means I can sleep at 12 and wake up at 7 in the morning! Hooray!
Which is very rare. My class usually starts at 7 and finished at 3 or longer if we have lab sessions on that day. Hm,.
Tomorrow will be a "thank God it's Monday" kinda day.
That is why I can actually sit in front of my laptop writing out this entry.
If not... hahaha.. My blog will be so not updated. #howsad

****************************************************************************

Anyway, back to today's event.. Mother's day!

And I guess everyone would be writing about their moms.
Haha.

So you prolly expect me to do the same.
And..

YOU"RE RIGHT!
*if you think it will be boring, it's fine, you don't have to read it, I'm writing this for myself anyway*

And oh I think it's useless to compare whether your mom is better than someone else's mom or you're a better mom than ther moms.

Heard of this quote?..  "Every mom is the best for their kids"
By : My mom( like seriously!)
Which is why you prolly never heard of that quote before. Oppsie. Hahaha

Those were the words that she said when I told her that she's the best mom I can ever have.
Of course, that quote may not apply to children going through domestic violence. (Things like that always break my heart) But still, mom is right. Maybe not entirely correct but she is right. Parenting is hard. So much sacrifices made. So much love. But you know your own child and you do what's best for them. :)

And for everything, mom, I can't never say thank you enough, for everything you've done for me. For the wisdom that you gave me. For the kindness that you've shown even when I was being more stubborn than a mule. The grace that you gave when I was wrong. The memories we have, the laughs, the tears.. I can't never replace that with anything else in this world. Those memories are precious.

As much as I love you, and you'll always be the queen of my heart, I am very blessed to have nanny. I love her too. :)

So happy Mother's day, one to the queen of my heart, my mom and the other mother I have who have loved me like her own and obviously I love her back too, nanny/ nanay, mahal mahal nak kita. :)

Life is short.
Gotta love life and the people in it.
Especially those that matters.
Like family. :)

Hope you have a good day. :)

With my muka busuk

Good morning to me! *belum mandi*
I'm so happy because it's very rare for me to get enough sleep during weekdays.
Not rare honestly but almost impossible. #lifeofadentalstudent
 Haha. Samalah tu kan? *lantaklah*

Last week had been super hectic due to juggling my studies, labs and pretests and TKG (Teknologi Kedokteran Gigi) stuff that I had to redo twice! Bad luck. =,=

Anyway, I finally did my second denture! Hahaha.
But it's kinda ugly.
Hahaha.
I think I need more practice. Hahaha.
Well what can you expect when you're to make it with some old fashion method, right?
This is a gyps model (Model bawah), the resin (pink part is the resin)
So basically, we have to break the gyps to get the resin.
Terserah lah what you want to use to break the gyps.
I used hammer. Hahaha.
Kontra model.
Nah, after getting your resin. It'll be something like this. So you'll have to wash it and do a bit of finishing and polishing using a minidrill and arkansas stone.

(not yet hooglans because I haven't done my finishing and polishing..hahah)
Hooglans = shiny (for dentures)

****************************************************

By the way, I have just finished my Anatomy review yesterday evening.
In case you're wondering how Anatomy review is...

It's like you're given the bones.

It can be real or fake bones, human bones and then u have to tell every single part of the bones to the Anatomy lab assistant, the muscles, the nerves, the arteries and the veins that go through every single foramen and bla bla bla. The functions of the muscles, origo or incersio..

If you get it wrong, the lab assistant will correct you. If nasib buruk and you get those super garang lab assistant.. OH NO.

It was hard. I tell you.
And the lab assistant will challenge you to see if you're confident with your answers or not.
*STRESS!!!*
The terms are according to the international standard on human anatomical terminology developed by Federative International Committee on Anatomical Terminology (FICAT) so all the terms would be in latin.
So even when your textbooks are using antomical terms in English, you will have to translate it into latin. Sometimes I feel like my brain is my version of Google Translate. I always translate from English to Bahasa Indonesia or latin (for Anatomy only) and vice versa. :)

By the way, if you think for Anatomy you'll only be learning head and neck then you'll be very dissappointed.
Here, according to our syllabus, we have to learn the whole body that includes the system and everything.
So basically you're both medical and dental student. Haha. Geddit?

But one thing that being a dental student in UGM, we're used to be under so much stress.
Haha.
Juggling 14 subjects, pretests and 4 labs per week.

Show you my exam card. In case you think I'm kidding you. HAHA.
If mentally you're not strong enough, then you would'nt be able to survive.
If by personality means you're a loner and the type who studies and not caring about the rest of the people, you hardly can survive too. Because the way things are here, it's just too hard and too much to handle it on your own. A lot of times, you need help. And you gotta love what you do to be able to persevere.

Last but not least, I'm so thankful to have friends who helped me throughout the times.
THANK YOU!

I Never Thought..

I never thought I would got into an accident while riding my scooter last Saturday. It was just another ordinary day.

I never thought the owner who owned the car that I hit would just let me off without asking me to fork out a single cent for the damage I've done. Oh maybe it was not entirely my fault but still, that was nice.

I never thought the wound I have on my middle finger was deep and I actually needed stitches. The cut was up to my tissue and almost kena my bone. *eew*

Haha. Took this pic while having dinner with friends. Pandai betul. Lepas accident masih boleh jalan keluar makan. What to do. Lapar bah.

I never thought the daughter of the owner of the car I hit would have told me that someone is casting black magic to my family. I was like,"I'm sorry, what?" *blur face* Somehow I believed her. But I wasn't afraid at all because I know our God is so much stronger and He is always bigger than fear.

I never thought I would be so happy and sad to see my seniors graduating. :)
Especially the ones who are closed to my heart.

Tada! They've made it! *YAYS*

*no caption* lazy

I never thought I would feel at home here in Jogja. Having people who are kind and nice was such a great blessing.

This is us attempting to take a selfie. Squeeze people! Move ya head!
Tips: the person who should take the pic is the one who has the longest hands. Haha.

The xiao mui and da gor :) and Ah Liang the photobombed =,=

Big smile while squeezed in between 2 tally-s.
I feel short. T.T

The so-called still dashing Mr.Bond-kononnya aka Rufus anne and his Bond girls. Hahaha.
Do the gun hand! *whateva*

Feels weird not seeing them anymore. :)

And and and

I never thought doing denture is so freaking hard!!!

But hey I made one.

Biarpun jelek. Hehe. Not bad for a start.
Practice makes perfect.

I never thought I would have a crush on my good friend. Haha. But yeah, as expected, he didn't like me back. *I heard something breaking..my heart... ouch*
But hey, as long as he's happy and me, I already am happy anyway, for now, with or without him. :)

I never thought I would look okay in my selfie with a bandaged middle finger. Haha.
Excuse the dark circles. Had a pretty crazily hectic week therefore lacked of sleep.
 Thank God I survived.

Kay kay, that's it for now. Till laters, toodles.
