#LifeUpdate2: Mid of Sem 4 (Prambanan Trip)

Life is awesome, when you've just finished your exams. Hooraaays!
I took 10 subjects for this sem. So many I can puke. But mids are done. Yeezah. Not gonna discuss how I did my papers but simply gonna let go and move forward. I can't wait to go back home. :D

Anyway, I read about an Indonesia blogger, Stella Lee, who just had plastic surgery. She was so open and so honest about it. Love that. Not everyone has the balls to just be honest and say that they did what they did, right. Maybe they have pretty good reasons for hiding the fact that they went for plastic surgery. I couldn't care. I mean, if you can be honest about something, you have just conquered that thing, you know.

I think I am getting older. Like really. Barely 21 and that is how I feel, scrolling through my timeline and looking at the changes about people. My friends are getting engaged/married/having babies and I am here stuck with my studies. HAHAHAHAHA. But let's be grateful. Even if I am not studying dentistry right now, I probably won't be getting married or having babies or anything like that. Those things are cool. Just now for me, for now.

I am happy with where I am right now. Not exactly where I want to stay forever but just gotta keep on moving forward, you know. Learn more, experience more things and live better. I looked back and I realised that I grew a lot. :) Screw up and learned new things. As long as I am progressing, even when it's small, I feel okay.

I explored a bit more than I did before. Went to Prambanan, few months back with friends which was fun. :) Rode scooter all the way there. I paid 35K for entrance fee which was the price for local. I can speak bahasa with Indonesian accents so that's what I did. Got cheaper price for that.

Tips: don't buy the food in the restaurant in that area, too overpriced. Eat before you go or bring some snacks along and water. You'll probably need sunglasses and an umbrella cause it's very hot and you have to walk a long way. Pretty good workout. :)

Open doors

Stairs made from rocks

Tada!

Between 2 mega bodyguards

Prambanan complex has one main buildings and smaller ones scattered around. Reconstruction works are still on going.

Slightly tilted :)

Hehe I selfied like nobody business :D

These rocks looked like dumbbells or chicken drumsticks HAHA

Went into a still in constructive temple and it was roofless. So yeah. Piccha! :D

Went straight to Ratu Boko after that. Will make another blog post next time round. :)

Beauty isn't Always Skin Deep

There are so many different definitions of what beauty is. Beauty in a woman, to me, is kindness, grace, generosity, wisdom and also handsome looking in combination.:) #typicalthinking
There is not a definition of beauty that everyone living on this earth can agree together. Some may think, beauty is what's on the surface and the others may feel that beauty is skin deep, the rest, like me , think it's the blend of these two but all in all, beauty depends on the eyes of the beholder. What may seems pretty to you probably looks the opposite to me.

You see, people do crazy things in life to be beautiful. Plastic surgeries, tonnes of makeup, pretty clothing etc, you name it. At times, this pursuing beauty can be so addictive that people become obsessed by them. They feel high when they're praised. They feel good getting hundreds of likes on Facebook, Instagrams or getting favorites on their Twitter when they post selfies on their clothings and life styles. Personally, I do not see anything wrong with people getting plastic surgeries done on them. I guess maybe I see plastic surgery as permanent enhancements in comparison to wearing makeup which is more like temporary enhancement.  There's is nothing wrong with wearing makeup too. If you want it, go and get it. Just as long as you know that these are tools that are used to enhance your features but they are not what defines you. :)

Studies have shown that beautiful people do have certain advantages. They are happier, have high self-esteem, more desired, and considered as good. But nothing comes with just the pros without the cons. Female beauty may have problems in their jobs if the jobs they are having or planning to apply for have very strong gender masculinity. Other than that, they may attract attentions that are not intended. Some may face social rejections due to certain circumstances like others feeling jealous over their looks.
Note: nothing in life comes for free

Sometimes, you meet someone who looks gorgeous from the head to the toe and apparently, these people do not understand or even think that they're attractive. LOL. Can be cute and annoying depending on the situation. But you see, the one thing that we can learn from this is that your own thoughts do play a role. If you think yourself as strong and beautiful, you are or you're on the way to be that. But once you start thinking that you're not good enough, then you're right, you're not good enough.

I think everyone (including myself) wants to be beautiful simply because we want to feel loved. We want people to accept us for who we are and beauty is one of the keys for that. My mother once told me that the first thing people see isn't your personality but your image. So that is why grooming is important. But still, doesn't matter how gorgeous one looks, I still think of them as ugly if his or her personality is bad. LOL. :P

Anyway, the point of this post is to be a small nudge to remind myself (or maybe you) to not look at beauty or grooming in a bad lighting. As much as grooming one's image is important, to enhance one's skills, knowledge, talents and personality is equally important.
Note to self: do not be lazy to dress up, read more books, be kind always and see the goods in the bads :) #SelfLoveAlways
True, beauty is not everything but it is something. It may not always be skin deep but beauty without kindness has little lasting effects.

My friend's mother once said, a woman's biggest weapon is beauty. And guess what, she is absolutely right.

I hope you feel attractive and smoky hot most of the time if not all the time. :D

Till then, toodles.

#LifeUpdate1 : The End of Semester 3

Sem 3 had been okay. It wasn't as bad as the previous semester, I can only hope I did better this semester. :)

Dental school can be really tough but I am so glad to have awesome people to go through this with. Can't be thankful enough. I think I went out more often this sem than sem 2 but slightly less than sem 1.  Throughout my whole semester, I've learned a lot, on friendships, life and also studies.

Recently have just knocked myself over. Typical boy-girl stuff. Not to say I am heartbroken or whatever, just slightly hurt. Imagine you have been defending a guy and turns out he's just like what everybody has been talking about. :( I feel so stupid! But hey, I am so glad that it didn't go far. Haha. :) Lesson learned the hard way.
Note to self: don't make the same mistake again

The other thing that I've learned, hard times reveal the true friends. :) Sometimes it does scare me off how mean a human can be. Even when you think of them as friends, they may not think of you the same. Sometimes people tend to just step on your head just so they can go higher. You see, some people tend to just look at one person and think of what they can get from that person. Kind of sad, you know. But yeah what to do. :)

But speaking of true friends,

You can do crazy silly things with.

You're not ashamed of it at all. Teehee. :D

You get matchy matchy heels with. Hehe

.

You do not mind ugly candid of yourself in a group photos. Haha.

You smile a lot with :)

The truth is, my friends and I don't always get along. There were times when any one of us just break down due to stress. Too much work to do, too little time. Now I kind of get it why my seniors used to tell that life in dental school is not as nice as we thought it would be. But despite of the fights, we're still together as friends. So that is something that I will treasure. :)

And the best part about the end of sem 3, NO MORE ANAOMY! NO MORE cadaver sessions! Not to say I hate it. Actually the lessons can be interesting. I just hate the stress from weekly pretests and lab exams. UGH! So glad it's over. And I got a freaking C for anatomy. Haiya. Whatever. I kind of expected that. I didn't do as well as I hoped for my lab exam. As long as I passed. :D But getting a C is :(

My amazing church family. Super Love. Big hearts for these people.

I spent my Christmas in Jogja. I did not go home because the break was too short and I was actually in the middle of finals. It has been 2 years, celebrating Christmas far from home. But having awesome people to celebrate with made it fun. :)

Can't wait to graduate. Can't wait to go back Malaysia. I want to graduate on time. I can graduate on time. --> I'm gonna go through sem 4 with this mentality. Fighting! :)

Till then, toodles.

Jelly Bunny Flat Shoes Review

Sorry for being MIA for so long! I have been very busy with school and gotta admit it was due to a bit of laziness. Hehe *sowie* But I'm back! :D I hope everyone is doing fine and great :)

So a couple of days ago when I was travelling back to Jogja from Kuala Lumpur, I did a bit of unplanned shopping. Haha. :) What to expect, I had more than 10 hours of layovers because I took the evening flight from Sabah to KL then from KL to Jogja the next morning. Perks of being a Sabahan - long travelling time. #tahanbanting

Anyway, let's get to it. :)

Just a bit information on the brand Jelly Bunny. Jelly Bunny is a Bangkok-based brand that provides a huge range of candy-colour-like handbags and footwear from slippers to sandals, flats and even heels. And the coolest part about this brand is, the shoes they sell are comfortable shoes. Yays! No more painful feet. :) The price range for their shoes are from RM20++ to RM 100++. Not expensive I have to say, they're worth buying. But you really have to buy their shoes when they're on sales. I read on other blogs that their shoes can go as low as RM10++ for a pair! *crazy* ME LIKEY!

Other angle, front view

As you can see in the picture above, the flats come with quilted padding in gold colour with their brand tag on it. Who doesn't like bunny anyway? They're so cute. Haha! :)

The main reason why I bought this shoes is because I was wearing a not so comfortable shoes and it really hurts my feet. I just don't think I can walk so much wearing those and I did not bring any other comfy shoes with me during my period of travel so I decided to just splurge. I did have a look on Vincci shoes but I just don't really like their designs and wear comfort (which was very little).

Made in Brazil

The view from the back. :D

The packaging. Simple and nice.

The other thing that I love about this brand is the way they packed the shoes for their customer. No big box to put the shoes in. Instead they provided a simple plastic pack with their logo on it. Very smart move I have to say. Save the production cost. I can simply reuse that plastic pack to keep my shoes on my shoe rack to prevent the dust from getting to it and that will give more space. And they also give a paper bag with their logo and official FB and website. So you may want to check them out in case they have any promotion or SALES. :D

My experience with their shoes so far, I love my new flats! Too bad the black colour that I wanted at first was out of stock so I ended up have to go with the nude colour but I love them nonetheless. :)
One thing that prospective buyers have to take note, just like any other PVC-made shoes, these kind of shoes tend to stick on the skin when you wear them in hot weather. But it wasn't a problem to me. I still love wearing them. :D Can't resist. :)

Thanks for reading!
Hope you enjoyed.
Have a good and awesome day ahead.
Toodles :)
